MIT gets grant for a first use of nano-tech -- futuristic military uniforms.
Nanotechnology: MIT and the Army team up to design the perfect protection for soldiers
“If you had a magic wand, what would you change?” Soldier after soldier replied he’d like a lighter load and “waterproofed everything.”
Kevlar can’t be made waterproof, so one researcher came up with a way to deposit nano layers of Teflon onto garments. The coating adds only .001 pound.
