New York Times -- Obsession - Store Sells Rice Pudding Only

Hmmm, I love rice pudding. Also tapioca pudding and a good flan.

When Sharon and I were in Turkey, I took us to a place called The Pudding Shop. This was over ten years ago.

Thw shop advertised itself as the start of "the hashish trail" as starting in the sixties, young people from Europe and America would start there and then trek to Afghanistan and the Indian subcontinent. Even if you weren't going for drugs it was a popular place to get information about how to travel in the Middle East and eastwards. I see they have a web site where the history calls itself the start of "the hippie trail." A great place for good puddings and traditional cuisine located near reasonably priced lodging and tourist attractions.
