Is this the World's smallest cat?

World's Smallest Cat? - Tiny HeedThis kitten possesses the munchkin gene and may grow up to be the world's smallest.
Heed is well on track. At 14 weeks old he is just 3 1/4 inches tall, and weighs just over 2lbs. Current record holder, Mr Peebles from Illinois, stands at 6.1 inches tall, and weighs 3.1 lbs.
Years ago I had noticed that everyone adored kittens but this attraction declined for larger cats. At the time, I thought some people might take advantage of that by developing an operation to snip the pituitary gland. What seems to be happening instead may be some breeders concentrating on breeding for the dwarfism gene.
