Animation for smart people

Full Metal Alchemist - The Movie.

Unfortunately, it only had one special showing over an hour from me in far West Houston a month ago.

Fortunately, it is out on DVD now and even on sale. The movie won several awards and is the true end of the series saga. The movie details the events that occur after Ed has been pulled into Germany in the 1920's from his own world. Yes, with the movie FMA transforms into an alt. history slider story and makes clear that the militaristic Japan and alchemical magic setting of the series was a parallel Earth. More details of the series and movie here. The 51 episodes of the series are available on 13 DVDs.

Also recommended: Cowboy Bebop and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. In Cowboy Bebop the series is better than the movie and the sound track stands out for its quality.
