She also explains Inca Kola which I have seen around. Inca Kola has a very interesting history including a disaster of a marketing campaign by Pepsi in their long cola wars. Alison doesn't mention Chica Morada, a Peruvian purple corn soft drink which is an even stranger drink available at Lemon Tree.
The major Peruvian restaurants that serve Inca Kola are on the west side of Houston but you can pick it up in some grocery stores.
Earlier she had another great idea of what to do with fresh figs.
