My advice to you is read Terry Practchett's Discworld novels for fun and spiritual profit, and start reading them now!Like him I don't recommend you start with the first two. Soul Magic and Small Gods and Guards! Guards! are among his best and good introductions. The comments on the link are also informative.
Terry Pratchett as a fantasy parodist and satirist has much wisdom that is applicable in the real world. Back in May Lance noticed Guards! Guards! described the Bush administration with Cheney as the Supreme Grand Master. This was the case even though Guards! Guards! was written many years before Dubya was nominated. Terry Pratchett is a genius and his books explore universal truths. And he does this while being funny.
