TIME: The Unraveling of String Theory

It seems after nearly 30 years there is no proof that string theory, or super-string theory, is valid and no experiments or proposed experiments to support it. The theory has lead to a lot of ideas but no real science. Two books coming out say it is time to throw this theoretical ball of string away.

Newer versions of string theory, such as by Leonard Susskind, combine it with the anthropic principle and say we live in only one of many universes. This also seems untestable.

Physicists have different takes on the Time article. - Time is full of crap. Fairly good as the theory is a failed idea that hasn't worked.
